近日，新葡京官方 乔雪教授合作文章“Migration, household services, and urban female labor supply: evidence from China”在Journal of Population Economics上正式发表。该文考察中国国内人口流动对城镇本地女性劳动供给的影响，发现低技能人口流入显著提高了城镇本地女性的平均市场工作时长，该效应对高工资女性更为明显。机制分析显示，低技能人口迁移降低了与家庭生产高度替代的市场化服务价格。因此，城镇女性增加市场家务服务的消费，减少家务劳动时间，并增加其劳动供给时长。

内容摘要：

This paper examines the impact of internal migration on the labor supply of urbannative women in China using individual longitudinal data from 2011 to 2019 anda difference-in-differences model. We exploit exogenous variation in low-skilledmigration induced by a significant relaxation of migration restrictions in 2014 foridentification. Our empirical results reveal that the inflow of low-skilled migrantshas a positive impact on the average market working hours of urban native womenand an insignificant impact on their labor force participation. The increase in marketworking hours is greater for high-wage women who have a higher opportunity costof time. Mechanism analysis shows that low-skilled migration reduces the prices ofmarket services that are close substitutes for home production. Consequently, urbanwomen increase their consumption of market-provided household services andreduce the time they spend on household work.
